Illusive is a fast growing festival and making a big name for them selves and lot of noise in the process. The festival has been at Dean Park in Corby on the second weekend of September, every year since 2015 and have been upsetting local residents every year with noise complaints. Except this year.
Our head sound engineer David Jackson partnered with Peter Collins of Central Audio Services to supply noise control management to the festival. This involves consultancy before the festival, devising an effective noise management strategy and then implementing that plan at the event.
The festival was in serious danger of jeopardising the license for 2019 if there were any noise complaints this year, which put a lot of pressure on us to ensure that the noise limits and curfews were adhered too. There were no noise restrictions throughout the day with music pumping from all six stages throughout the day starting from noon. At 11pm the noise restrictions came into play and the curfew was 4am.
Our assistant was off-site taking measurements at the nearest residential areas and feeding information back to us on-site. We communicated with the engineers for each sound system to ensure that they would bring the levels down by the required amount at or before 11pm.
The festival didn’t receive a single noise complaint all weekend!
Elsewhere on-site we also supplied our Martin Audio LE700 stage monitor system and a microphone package to the Takeover stage.
